Who We Are

Armstrong Fortescue was born out of the idea that we all wish to experience safaris in different ways. Our vision is to create itineraries that veer from the norm.

With our extensive, high end guiding experience and combined years spent living and working in safari camps we believe we make an ideal operator to create, organise and host your safari.

William Fortescue, Co-founder:

“We take huge care to ensure all of our trips are as much for wildlife as they are of wildlife. We believe that by following a genuine wildlife first mantra our guests and the animals have the best experience possible.”

How We Do It

We offer three kinds of safaris, bespoke, privately guided and photographic. While their styles may vary the themes remain consistent; a ‘wildlife’ first mantra, ensuring all our safaris place wildlife safety and welfare at their heart. We know this ensures the best experience for them and therefore for you.

For every enquiry we receive we create a personal process. Meeting with you (online or in person) to discuss the safari experience you are searching for and preparing a variety of options for you to explore.

Our Safaris

  • Bespoke Safaris

We have something for everyone. Each of our safaris is planned with your needs in mind and tailor made to your wishes. Book with full confidence knowing you have the perfect, personalised itinerary.

  • Privately Guided Safaris

Add a dedicated personal touch to your safari with a private guide throughout. From the moment you land to the day you leave we will host and document your trip ensuring you can enjoy every, single, moment.

  • Photographic Safaris

Our roots are in photographic safaris. We offer some of the most exciting wildlife photography opportunities to our guests guided by Will, one of the most awarded photo guides out there.

Mark Meth-Cohn, Arctic Guest

“I’ve been fortunate enough to travel a lot over the years…travelling to Svalbard with Armstrong Fortescue, I was blown away.  Matt and Will put together an amazing itinerary to provide a first class service, vessel, boats and guides, no stone was left unturned.”

Why We Do It

Our co-founders Matt and Will place great emphasis on the role of travel and photography in conservation, believing that the more people experience wild in its rawest form the more likely they are to engage in its protection.

Matt is a board member for the Wild Asia Habitat fund and has repeatedly supported the globally successful Remembering Wildlife campaign; a series of coffee table books that have raised $1,000,000 for a variety of African conservation projects.

Will has always placed great emphasis on his imagery being as much for wildlife as it is of wildlife. To date his work has raised over £130,000 for a variety of conservation and humanitarian charities.

Above all else we strive to ensure our guests enjoy embarking on our safaris as much as we love hosting or organising them and hope you’ll share our wildlife first mantra for we can guarantee you that will always result in the best experience for you and the animal.
